Twenty Thirteen

It's the post you've all been waiting for! Ok, maybe not, because I think every person in the fitness blog universe is writing a New Year's Resolution post today... But oh well. I will spare you the full reflection on 2012, because if you've been reading this blog for any time at all, you know how I feel about the way my life has changed through CrossFit. It has changed and improved dramatically in ways I couldn't have anticipated, and I think that in the future I will regard 2012 as one of Read more [...]

Wisconsin

Things I did last week during our trip to visit The BF's fam in Wisconsin: 1. Sat in a car for a combined total of over 30 hours. 2. Listened to 2.5 Harry Potter books on tape (well technically "on iPhone"). 3. Consumed the following: waffles, a full loaf (at least) of banana bread, fried cheese curds, monkey bread so sweet it literally made my mouth hurt, cheese and more cheese, sushi, a dessert made out of oreos and coffee ice cream and cool whip, a casserole topped with corn flakes, Read more [...]

Resolution Junkie

Hey, don't forget to enter the Gamma Labs Giveaway! Today is the last chance! I am well aware that there is still half a week left in 2012, but I have decided to just treat it as blank space in which you don't have to do anything except plan how you're going to make up for all the nothing-doing once 2013 starts. This feeling is especially strong because we are spending the final week of 2012 in Wisconsin, visiting The BF's fam and eating as much dairy and gluten as we can get our hands Read more [...]

Traditions

I have a confession. I don't have any Christmas traditions. My parents got divorced when I was 9, so the only tradition we really observed was shuttling back and forth all day between houses and meals and different family factions. We don't open Christmas jammies on Christmas Eve or even bake cookies. My mom has valiantly tried to start a few Christmas traditions over the years, including going out for sushi on Christmas Eve, making elaborate Christmas breakfasts, or trying to find a soup Read more [...]

All I Want for Christmas is Spandex

I'm just gonna go ahead and throw this out there: I am really counting on the world not ending tomorrow. Today I slept through the 5:30AM WOD for the first time ever. A few times I have acknowledged my alarm going off and made the conscious decision to not get out of bed, but today I had no idea my alarm even had gone off until it was 6AM and Brandon was kneeing me in the back (how romantic) saying, "Hey, aren't you going to go to CrossFit?" Which is when I picked up my phone and realized that Read more [...]
