Gamma Labs Giveaway

Gamma-Labs-Xmas

Let’s talk about some things that are awesome.

1. Snow, which is currently fluttering gently from the sky at this very moment.

2. Christmas socks, which I am currently wearing.

3. The Glee Christmas Album, which I am currently listening to.

4. Being able to use my calves again, which I can finally do after a day and a half of post-Filthy 50 hobbling.

5. Free stuff, which I am about to give to you!

I bought some Gamma Labs PTF mix from their Black Friday sale last month and to be honest I was pretty skeptical because energy drinks typically make me feel like I am on crack. I never even drink coffee because it will literally keep me awake for days. So the first time I tried Gamma Labs was for a WOD first thing in the morning to make sure it would have plenty of time to wear off in case it DID make me all crazy, but I was really surprised that I hardly felt a jolting blast of energy at all but more of a just a slight pick-me-up… Just enough to give me a boost going into the workout but not enough to make me feel jittery. I can even take it before 7PM WODs and it will wear off before bedtime with no problem.

But even more importantly, I immediately noticed a HUGE increase in my mental fortitude. I am used to feeling really fuzzy by about halfway through a WOD, but since starting to use PTF before workouts I have felt much more focused and clear-headed. This has made it a lot easier to attack the mental aspect of WODs. I think that 90% of the time, your brain gives up before your muscles do–but honestly using this mix has made a big difference for me in that sense.

Oh, AND it tastes awesome. Not chalky-protein-powder awesome, but actually awesome.

Right now they are doing a 2-for-1 Christmas Promo, where every order will be doubled for free. But you can also WIN a case of 20 single serve packets of Gamma Labs PTF right here!

Just leave a comment with one awesome thing that’s happened to you this week or that you are looking forward to! For bonus entries, you can post your favorite holiday tradition to The Ascent Blog on Facebook!

A winner will be chosen on December 26th, 2012. Good luck!

My 18 month old daughter and I are looking forward to a Skype date with her daddy who is deployed in Afghanistan. We will be doing a Skype Christmas so we can watch him open his Christmas package :) So excited!!!

    • clairechapman

Oh my gosh that is the sweetest thing I have ever heard. So great that you guys get to spend a few Christmas moments together even when he is so far away! Thank you to him and your family for his/your service (because everyone knows that military families are just as important as the soldiers themselves)!!

I passed my entrance exam for the nursing program yesterday! Literally jumped for joy!! :)

    • clairechapman

Congratulations!! That stuff is HARD!! Brandon is in school finishing his pre-reqs before applying to PA school and every time he tells me something about biology or chemistry or A+P it seems so confusing… So I am definitely impressed!

    • clairechapman

Hey Kourtney–you’re the winner! Email me at theascentblog@gmail.com

  • molliephoto

i found out i’m pregnant! and i decided i’m going to try and do crossfit wods for the entire pregnancy (so as not to be as huge and lazy as i was with my last pregnancy:)

    • clairechapman

Holy crap!! That is so awesome!! Now I feel puh-retty silly for being like “Oh yeah my day was awesome because I have Christmas socks on…” Haha! I recently read something about a box that did a WOD to honor a mom-to-be member by making vests out of duct tape and holding med balls around their bellies and doing a full WOD with them on! You should get your box to do something similar :)

I sold my first clothing design to a small boutique :) One dress down many more to go :)

    • clairechapman

That’s so incredible! When I was in high school I really wanted to be a fashion designer, I had sketch books and everything! And now somehow I ended up on the other end of the spectrum… I don’t know a thing about fashion and I just wear jeans and t shirts every day :) Congratulations and here’s to many more!!

Your facebook link is broken :( But I know how to find you!

  • Brigitte

I got to wear my reindeer antlers and red scrubs to work all this week and patients have loved it.

    • clairechapman

Haha THAT is amazing! I used to have a Rudolph nose with a little button on the inside that caused it to light up when I put it on and my nose pushed on it… Might need to invest in a new one!

  • Kyle

I got to watch my 4 year old preform in his preschool Christmas program last night. They sang the reindeer pokey (like the hokey pokey) with cute reindeer antlers on. Last night before I went to sleep I went to check on him and there he was asleep in his bed wearing his reindeer antlers. It was so adorable!!

My other great moment came when I beat my hubby with the number of burpees I could do in 7 minutes!

    • clairechapman

Oh my gosh that is adorable. Sometimes I wish i could still get as excited about anything as kids do about holidays!! And that is awesome about the burpees :) I can’t imagine 7 minutes of burpees, that sounds miserable! How many did you do??

  • Salina M

I am looking forward to going home for the Holidays! I haven’t seen my family in months.

    • clairechapman

Oh fun! A little fam time is always awesome over the holidays :)

  • clare

I’m looking forward to making a gingerbread house tomorrow with a couple of my besties.

    • clairechapman

Amazing. I love gingerbread houses! One year I made a gingerbread apartment complex… I was pretty proud of myself… haha

  • Mary Sullivan

The Holiday’s mean a lot more to me then most people. All four of my brothers make their way home. Me, being the youngest of and the only girl, I’ve learned to hold my own. But now I have started to work on more then just my strength! Last month I started with beginner crossfit workouts, with much help from your blog. HOWEVER the thing I’m looking forward to is moving up to the next level! Keep posting and thanks for the motivation!

    • clairechapman

I’m so glad you have liked the workouts I’ve posted!! And I am the only girl with 6 brothers–so I totally know how you feel! I am almost the youngest… my twin brother is technically 10 minutes younger, which I have been able to hold over his head for our entire lives :)

I just had a baby four months ago and lost all the baby weight except for 6 lbs!!! I can’t wait to try your Holiday indoor workouts while on vacation. I have taken a week off from working out and feel terrible! I can’t wait to get back into the swing!!

    • clairechapman

Way to go!! I know I feel terrible if I even take a few days off… I mean vacation is great but I still want to be CrossFitting :)

  • Christine

I am creating wods to do in the basement of my work building! Awesomeness happens all of the time! Right now it’s the snow on the ground and the neighbors outside helping each other! I’m so glad I found your blog!

    • clairechapman

Thanks, Christine! I’m impressed that you workout in the basement of your building–that is some serious dedication!
