Reasonable Goals vs. Lame Goals

There has been a lot of talk out there this week about goals. Actually, I say "out there" but what I really mean is "inside my own head and sometimes on Julie Foucher's blog too" (because as we all know, me and JF are besties, I even met her in the bathroom at the StubHub Center once... but I digress). We even did a podcast about goals last week, and it got me to thinking that it was high time that I set some goals that didn't suck. You may remember that in June I set daily goals for a while. Bulu Box Review

I have a bad habit of treating supplements and multi-vitamins like makeup. Makeup, in my opinion, should only really be used for special occasions like date night (and sometimes for chin zits)--and this is typically how I treat things like pre-workout and antioxidant drinks. Not that I take pre-workout before date night (although maybe I should start), but I really don't ever remember to take vitamins or fish oil unless there is something special coming up. Since starting CrossFit, I have Read more [...]

Tabata Ab & Booty Circuit

I think part of the reason that I have been bummin on Whole30 a little bit is because I haven't seen any real physical results. Spring 2013 Health & Fitness Goals

I just realized that my Winter Goals timeline came to a close on April 1st! Apparently this has not been a very goal-oriented quarter for me if I'm just realizing this now. In fact, I feel like I have been a little out of the CrossFit mental space for the past few weeks, thanks to traveling and focusing more on my diet, so it's time to get back on the bandwagon! I only accomplished half of my Winter Goals, which you can revisit here. I did get what I considered to be my most important goal, Read more [...]

The Art of Running with Small Dogs {by Evan Pollitt}

Editor's Note: Our final guest post comes from Evan of Salt, Dogs, and Duct Tape. He is an hilarious writer with a knack for calling it as it is, and I am so excited to feature him as we wrap up this awesome week of stories! By the way, I didn't exactly give Evan the chance to approve this title... But I think after you read this, you will understand. Hello Ascent Blog! Let me start by saying I’m happy to be here. I’m Evan and I write salt, dogs, and duct tape. Allow me to introduce myself. Read more [...]
